St. Louis Sub Slab Depressurization
This is the most common and reliable method of St. Louis radon mitigation systems. This technique is designed to achieve lower air pressure beneath the concrete floor slab, relative to the indoor air pressure, by using one or more fan-powered vents to draw air from below the concrete slab, creating a positive pressure on the interior of the house. Additionally floor and wall cracks are sealed and if you have one, the sump pit is sealed with a removable cover. This draws the radon gas out and away from the house, releasing it into the outdoor air above the house
A hole is core drilled into your basement or floor slab and a 3" pvc pipe is inserted and sealed to the floor. The pipe is routed either to the attic or outside where a radon vent fan is connected and vented above the roof.
